The Humble & Expectant Receives

Mark 7:24-30 NIV

[24] Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. [25] In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an impure spirit came and fell at his feet. [26] The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. [27] “First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” [28] “Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” [29] Then he told her, “For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.” [30] She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.

SINS TO AVOID:

PROMISES TO CLAIM :

  1. Jesus can & will cast out demons or demonic addictions on our love ones. * Asking something in accordance to God’s will persistently and in humble spirit receives by faith. For sure, God doesn’t want anyone demon-possessed or become slaves to any passions.

EXAMPLES TO FOLLOW:

  1. Seeking help from Jesus for your problems promptly and with action. The woman physically seek Jesus when she heard that He was in town – she looked for Him.
  2. Be humble in God’s presence – we might be highly educated or have very high position or very rich but God is still above us. We must always remember God’s sovereignty in all things and let us remind ourselves that we are nothing but dust. * The greek woman didn’t argue with Jesus that He called her a dog but continued to plead that even the dogs eat fallen breadcrumbs from the table. The woman is expecting a small mercy from Jesus and she received it by faith.
  3. Received from the Lord with confidence. When Jesus told the woman that she can go because her daughter was healed, she obeyed immediately without any demand of assurance or proof. This is faith in action.

COMMANDMENTS TO OBEY :

SOME OTHER TEACHINGS:

  1. Seek God’s presence to experience His power of healing and restoration. * Jesus’ presence in Tyre is well-known but only this woman came to Jesus for help. The other people of the city just talked about Jesus and His miracles but they never experienced one.

MY REFLECTION:

I humbly ask God for wisdom on how I can live my life to my fullest potential – on what to do that will bring significant positive impact to the Kingdom of God and those around me. I humbly ask and by faith I declare that God will give us baby of our own. It is God’s design for humans to procreate and I claim that God is able to give us one – if He willed it. I believe in miracles & I believe that my God still can do miracles in today. But I also acknowledge God’s sovereignty over this matter, that it is not my will but God’s will be done. At this point, I completely rely on God’s mercy on me. But until He said “No” I will keep on believing and by faith I will declare it to come true in Jesus’ name.

By Faith You are healed!

Mark 5:24-34 NIV[24] … A large crowd followed and pressed around him. [25] And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. [26] She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. [27] When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, [28] because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” [29] Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. [30] At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” [31] “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” [32] But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. [33] Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. [34] He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” …

SINS TO AVOID:

  1. Finding solutions to our problems outside of Jesus.
  2. Following Jesus from a distance – halfhearted obedience and allegiance to Jesus Christ ( I go to church because of my parents, girlfriend/boyfriend,friend, or boss.)
  3. Thinking that we know all things based on our experience. Sometimes we override God’s will because of our so called “knowledge.” Watchout if you are highly educated or holds a very high position. Observe how the disciples questioned the Lord in v30.

PROMISES TO CLAIM :

  1. Touching anything that belongs to Jesus Christ gives healing. The woman claimed by faith that if she could only touched Jesus cloak, she will be healed. How do you keep in touch with the Lord today? Do you claim anything you claim by faith in doing so?

EXAMPLES TO FOLLOW:

  1. Desire to overcome anything that hinders you from getting in touched with Jesus Christ. The woman pushed thru the crowd, note that v24 describes a large crowd was pressing around Jesus.
  2. Testify to others when God do good to your life and give God back all the glory.  In v32 the woman comes forward and acknowledged that Jesus healed her, without her courage to come out we wouldn’t have known this wonderful story.

COMMANDMENTS TO OBEY :

  1. Be grateful for what God did and is doing in your life.
  2. Find peace and be free from of slavery.

SOME OTHER TEACHINGS:

  1. The Lord loves to acknowledge His real follower.

MY REFLECTION:

The healing power of God is unlimited but only those with enough faith and comes forward to Jesus receives healing.

Today, I claim healing for my body in Jesus’ name! I claim that my blood chemistry will all be normal – cholesterol & uric acid in normal level. I claim that I will achieve my ideal weight and will be stronger. I claim that the Lord Jesus Christ will give me focus & wisdom, and I claim that He will remove all my stress. I decided to live a helthy lifestyle and I claim that the Lord will sustain it. I claim that I can have a baby soon! All these I claim in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Testimony of a man who was demon-possessed

Mark 5:1-20

A Demon-possessed Gerasene Healed
5 And they came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes. 2 And as* he was getting out of the boat, immediately from the tombs a man with an unclean spirit went to meet him, 3 who ⌊lived⌋ among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him any longer, not even with a chain, 4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the shackles had been shattered. And no one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 And during every night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6 And when he* saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and knelt down before him. 7 And crying out with a loud voice he said, “⌊What have I to do with you⌋, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore you by God, do not torment me!” 8 (For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!”) 9 And he was asking him “⌊What is your name⌋?” And he said to him, “My name is Legion, because we are many.” 10 And he was imploring him many times that he would not send them out of the region. 11 Now a large herd of pigs was there at the hill feeding, 12 and they implored him, saying, “Send us to the pigs so that we may enter into them.” 13 And he permitted them. And the unclean spirits came out and* entered into the pigs, and the herd—about two thousand—rushed headlong down the steep slope into the sea and were drowned in the sea. 14 And their herdsmen fled and reported it* in the town and in the countryside, and they came to see what it was that had happened. 15 And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man sitting there clothed and in his right mind—the one who had had the legion—and they were afraid. 16 And those who had seen it* described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man, and about the pigs. 17 And they began to urge him to depart from their region. 18 And as* he was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed began to implore him that he could go with him. 19 And he did not permit him, but said to him, “Go to your home to your people and tell them all that the Lord has done for you, and that he has had mercy on you.” 20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him, and they were all astonished.

SINS TO AVOID:

  1. Value material things over spiritual things. People in that town asked Jesus to leave their place perhaps because of what happened to the herds of 2000 pigs but failed to appreciate the miracle of healing to a demon-possessed man.
  2. Value material things over a life of a person.
  3. Fear of the unknown. They don’t know Jesus and they were afraid of Him so the people asked Jesus to leave their place. They don’t have to courage to find out the truth.

PROMISES TO CLAIM :

  1. God has mercy on us! If everybody gave up on us, God will not.
  2. Only God can truly release us from any bondage of sin. We can’t suppress our addictions apart from God. To be truly free, we need to submit our lives to Jesus Christ.

EXAMPLES TO FOLLOW:

  1. Be obedient to God – the man who was possessed obeyed Jesus to stay in his place and proclaimed what Jesus did to him. As a result, people were astonished of God and became interested to know Jesus.
  2. Sharing how the Lord changed your life is a good way to evangelize. In this way,  people may come to know the Lord. Every believers should give their testimonies to others as a way of sharing the gospel.

COMMANDMENTS TO OBEY :

  1. Share the gospel where you are. Start in your own home.
  2. Share your testimony.  Share what the Lord did to your life.

SOME OTHER TEACHINGS:

  1. Jesus has authority in all things, even to demons.
  2. Life is more important than any other material things.
  3. Even the demons tremble at the name of Jesus Christ, but some people do not respect and even ridicule the Lord Jesus Christ like the chief priest and those who crucified the Lord. Even in the current times, many people made fun of the Lord. Why? Because they don’t know the truth.

My Reflection:

I will be ready to give my Jesus story – why & how did I believe in the Lord. Also, I will take note of the things that I am grateful about and will be willing to provide my testimony about it to inspire others to trust in Jesus Christ as well. Without the Lord, I am nothing and will have nothing. I give praise to God for His goodness!

The Lord Jesus Heals

Mark 3:7-12

Jesus Heals Crowds by the Sea

7 And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd from Galilee followed him.* And from Judea 8 and from Jerusalem and from Idumea and the other side of the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon a great crowd came to him because they* heard all that he was doing. 9 And he told his disciples that a small boat should stand ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not press upon him. 10 For he had healed many, so that all those who ⌊were suffering from diseases⌋ pressed about him in order that they could touch him. 11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, were falling down before him and crying out, saying, “You are the Son of God!” 12 And he warned them strictly that they should not make him known.

SINS TO AVOID:

PROMISES TO CLAIM :

  1. Jesus is able to heal all kinds of disease and cast out all types of demons.

EXAMPLES TO FOLLOW:

  1. Be desperate for the presence of God in all circumstances of your life whether you are in need or at the best time of your life.
  2. Be humble. The Lord Jesus don’t want to be known but was continuously  healing the people.

COMMANDMENTS TO OBEY :

SOME OTHER TEACHINGS:

  1. Jesus is the Son of God. Even the demons tremble when they faced Jesus – I am wondering how those people who looked down at Jesus today would react when they stand face to face with Jesus?
  2. Be wise – Jesus asked his disciples to ready a boat for Him to avoid people from pressing in on them. Any situation you are that could have been better if you implemented some administrative control?
