Favored Life

Proverbs 18:22 NIV
He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.

As the sun rises to give new hope, i pray that God would continue to bless your life!

Amen! I can’t agree more! I felt so blessed to have a wife like you – intelligent, outspoken, beautiful, confident, giver, jolly, responsible, sweet, and God-fearing. God knows that in this life that somehow I will lose my way so He sent you to me to be my guide and help. To remind me of my purpose when things are unclear, and to keep me stay focused on the Lord.

God made you especially for me. Together, with God’s guidance and help, we will be able to do incredible things for the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let’s fan the fire into flame to keep the desire to share the gospel to one more soul inside us burning.  I pray that we could continue to disciple many people for the Lord.

As we serve our creator, let us not forget to have fun and enjoy the fellowship as a couple, and with our loving brothers and sisters in Christ, and for all the people that God brought into our lives. I am experiencing real blessing in my life now, and it’s happier with you besides me. I am very thankful to God for giving you as my wife. I just love your smile 🙂

And on your special day, let me do everything to make you happy. I hope you’ll enjoy our moment together as we explore the famous great wall of China. Just relax, have a joyful dream amidst the 2-hour flight delay. Remember, this is your day no matter what so let me watch the night  as you stay still and dream away.  I love you and have a happy birthday my beloved wife.

Seek God’s Favor

Proverbs 16:7 NIV

When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.

I am lucky to be a follower of Jesus because the FAVOR of the Lord is on me. When I read the Bible ad meditate on it, I can see the advantages of being a believer. For instance, in Proverbs 16:7 I can claim that the Lord will cause everyone to have peace with me. Of course there is a premise that God should takes pleasure on me first. But as a Christian, it is my desire to know the Lord more and more everyday. I am not perfect yet, but my God always show mercy on me.

This verse remind me to always seek God first and all his righteousness. To always prioritize God above all things because if you are with God, then who can be against you? As the Apostle Paul encourages the believers to finish the race – with a good fight.

There is always a fight between my old nature and my new self that was already redeemed by God. There is always a fight between the world’s desire and what God wants. And do note that Satan and his demons are actively attacking believers so that they will waver in their faith. Everyday is indeed a struggle but I know that my God is all-powerful that I can be victorious with God’s help. I need to take control of myself and be a victor on my own life – and with my God’s help I am able do it most of the time. Once the Lord Jesus Christ takes control of my life and desires, everything around me settled as God designed it to be. Once Jesus moves in my life, then I can be an effective ambassador of the Kingdom of God in this world. And the favor of God will always be on me and my family. Amen.

Jesus Healed a deaf & mute man

Mark 7:31-37 NIV
[31] Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis. [32] There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged Jesus to place his hand on him. [33] After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue. [34] He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”). [35] At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly. [36] Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. [37] People were overwhelmed with amazement. “He has done everything well,” they said. “He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

SIN TO AVOID:

  1. Disobeying Jesus direct command not to tell about the miracles. Many times in the bible the Lord avoided crowd attention and said “The hour has not yet come.”

PROMISE TO CLAIM :

  1. The Lord is willing to help us with our problems just like when He cured a deaf and mute man.

EXAMPLES TO FOLLOW:

  1. The Lord travelled to Decapolis to reach out for more people.
  2. People seek Jesus’ help for their problems. Hoping is one thing but asking the Lord for help is one step forward.
  3. Be amazed at what God can do – like healing a mute or just a giving us a additional day to live.

SOME OTHER TEACHINGS:

  1. The Lord deeply cares about our needs including our physical healing.
  2. People can’t stop sharing God’s miracles in their life.

APPLICATION:

 1. What should I stop doing? I should stop doing things based on what I know is right. In all my problems, I should pray to God first before trying to solve anything.

 2. What should I begin/resume/continue doing? I should start to reach out for new people and help them with their physical & spiritual needs. I will continue listening to Christian music that praises & worships God.

3. What should I do better? I should spend more time studying the bible and to care to others just as the Lord did.

The Humble & Expectant Receives

Mark 7:24-30 NIV

[24] Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. [25] In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an impure spirit came and fell at his feet. [26] The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. [27] “First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” [28] “Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” [29] Then he told her, “For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.” [30] She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.

SINS TO AVOID:

PROMISES TO CLAIM :

  1. Jesus can & will cast out demons or demonic addictions on our love ones. * Asking something in accordance to God’s will persistently and in humble spirit receives by faith. For sure, God doesn’t want anyone demon-possessed or become slaves to any passions.

EXAMPLES TO FOLLOW:

  1. Seeking help from Jesus for your problems promptly and with action. The woman physically seek Jesus when she heard that He was in town – she looked for Him.
  2. Be humble in God’s presence – we might be highly educated or have very high position or very rich but God is still above us. We must always remember God’s sovereignty in all things and let us remind ourselves that we are nothing but dust. * The greek woman didn’t argue with Jesus that He called her a dog but continued to plead that even the dogs eat fallen breadcrumbs from the table. The woman is expecting a small mercy from Jesus and she received it by faith.
  3. Received from the Lord with confidence. When Jesus told the woman that she can go because her daughter was healed, she obeyed immediately without any demand of assurance or proof. This is faith in action.

COMMANDMENTS TO OBEY :

SOME OTHER TEACHINGS:

  1. Seek God’s presence to experience His power of healing and restoration. * Jesus’ presence in Tyre is well-known but only this woman came to Jesus for help. The other people of the city just talked about Jesus and His miracles but they never experienced one.

MY REFLECTION:

I humbly ask God for wisdom on how I can live my life to my fullest potential – on what to do that will bring significant positive impact to the Kingdom of God and those around me. I humbly ask and by faith I declare that God will give us baby of our own. It is God’s design for humans to procreate and I claim that God is able to give us one – if He willed it. I believe in miracles & I believe that my God still can do miracles in today. But I also acknowledge God’s sovereignty over this matter, that it is not my will but God’s will be done. At this point, I completely rely on God’s mercy on me. But until He said “No” I will keep on believing and by faith I will declare it to come true in Jesus’ name.

Eternal Destiny

Philippians 3:18-21 NIV

[18] For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. [19] Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. [20] But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, [21] who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

SINS TO AVOID:

  1. Stand against the cross of Christ– unbelief on the gospel of Jesus Christ
  2. Making our stomach our god.
  3. Setting our mind on earthly things.

— We need food & other material things but these should not be the guiding principle of our lives.

PROMISES TO CLAIM :

  1. Our citizenship is in heaven.
  2. Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is coming back again.
  3. Our lowly bodies will be transformed into glorious body by the Lord.

EXAMPLES TO FOLLOW:

  1. Be eager for the arrival of the Lord, waiting patiently.
  2. Setting your personal goals on things with eternal value.

COMMANDMENTS TO OBEY :

SOME OTHER TEACHINGS:

  1. The enemies of Christians are real – Satan as the head.

MY REFLECTION:

I have been working in the corporate world for almost 12 years now.  But looking back, my daily existence in the corporate world is to beat the target that was set month after month. It’s good to know the tasks that I need to complete in the next couple of days, and those in my 90-day focus. I kept on learning and improving and I can see financial success as well as gaining new friends along the way.  I have gone a long way from where I started but there’s always more ahead of me. It seems that no matter how hard I try, there is always something better in this materialistic world. It’s not bad, but how would you know if enough is enough?

God is so faithful that all these years that He made ways for me to improve spiritually. He introduced me to God-fearing friends, pushed me lead a small church, and sent me overseas to preach in an international church at the heart of the city.  I can feel God’s reminder for me to focus on things that will matter in eternity (on things that concerns the Kingdom of God.) As a child of God, I am privileged to have God’s favor on my life and He is putting me in a position where I can serve Him more.  I know every day is a struggle for me to overcome my own weaknesses and to withstand the attack of Satan but thanks be to God – He is always ready to help me every day and I can claim victory in my life through Jesus Christ’s authority.
